Well...holy shit.
Tonight I got to shake the hand that wrote all my favorite songs.
Metallica and the All Within My Hands Foundation along with the SF Giants flew me out to be part of Metallica night at Oracle park. This is up there in the top 10 moments of my life. I was so incredibly blessed to be part of this.
I was interviewed at the VIP party at Triples Alley and was taking part in a documentary for CNBC for the AWMH Foundation. I didn't take a lot of pictures because everything was happening so fast but I'm sure they will pop up on the web eventually. I pulled some of these off their site. I also got to hang out with Blackened Whiskey's Rob Dietrich and Editor and amazing writer of 'So What' Magazine Steffan Chriazi. Metallica had their own suite at the park and I got to hang and eat all their food!
The band has been so incredibly generous throughout this whole process and signed one of my 40th anniversary posters for me which means the world to me and will be one of my most treasured possessions. It was AMAZINGLY framed by Rebekah Nault.
I am over the moon, and will be telling this story to whoever will listen until the day I die.

Had an incredible weekend with the Metallica folks.
My buddy Petey from Spooky Empire and I got to be a guest at a Blackened Whiskey tasting and meet and greet with Lars and Rob T., which was incredible. First time I've ever had whiskey and said "Hey, this is pretty good!" Got to hang with Blackened's Master Distiller and just master human Rob Dietrich which is always a good time. The guy is a class act in the truest sense.
Also got to finally meet and hang out with awesome multi-decade Metallica artist Tony Squindo and his lovely and kick ass wife Wendy. Squindo and I were both able to do art for this show (which was just a huge honor to be in the orbit, obviously) and to see his art up on the screens before the show was just unbelievably amazing. Hanging with them made the weekend even more enjoyable, if that were even possible.
Not going to lie, seeing my art at a Metallica merch booth was pretty damn cool. I still don't believe it. Got to meet a whole lot of people this weekend, got to sign a bunch of posters, it was just wonderful. Even Eddie Trunk and Chuck Billy from Testament were hanging around! Definitely a trip for the record
books.

This weekend we got invited by the Metallica team to come hang out for the two L.A. shows.
It was my daughter's first metal concert and a helluva starter show it was. It was probably my favorite concert experience of all time. On Friday we had seats in the lower section and on Sunday we had floor/pit passes. It was insane to be in the center of the stage surrounded by close to 100,000 people.
Both nights, 100k people, sold out.
It was mind blowing to see my art on shirts in the merch booths surrounded by shirts from my heroes like Pushead, Squindo and Preece. Apparently the Blackened 72 shirt had completely sold out and they had to order more to be printed. It was fun playing "Where's Waldo?" with my shirt designs at the show with my daughter.

It was the hometown Los Angeles show so all the celeb Metallica fans came out. John Travolta, Tommy Lee and Adria Arjona were there apparently but I didn't see them, along with Jason Momoa. He was in the pit both nights .
Dave Grohl was in the pit just vibing out with all the common folk like the Ambassador of Rock that he is. He was as genuinely cool as you want him to be. There was a little VIP lounge area off the pit where everyone came to recover and he was just hanging out there for a bit too. Probably the second time in my life where I was officially "star struck" but he was just hanging like a normal dude. No posse or entourage. Tom Morello was there also and I got to talk to him briefly, also super nice and laid back. Got to meet Ross Halfin in the pit too. He seemed surprised anybody recognized him but he is rock and roll royalty.
Metallica literally took over southern L.A. for that weekend. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing shirts everywhere. We ate at a Mexican place miles away from the venue and 95% of the people in the restaurant had the shirts on. It was hilarious.
Stuff like this so rarely gets to happen for graphic designers but Metallica are so ridiculously generous with opportunities like this. They celebrate the artists that work with them and I am trying to soak in every minute of it because I know how rare opportunities like this are. You're boy is over the moon.
Very, very good times.

Super stoked to announce the release of the latest Roblox game I have Art Directed, TMNT: MUTANT MAYHEM BATTLE TYCOON!
It was made in conjunction with Paramount and Nickelodeon. I served as Art Director as well as concept artist and at times texture painter.
I'm extremely proud of the work I have done with my team to make it feel unique to Roblox. We tried to merge the comic book, sketchy, painted lined look of the movie with low poly 3D gameplay (while also finding a voice of our own.)
Seems to be doing well, it was only released a few hours ago and it already has on average 2,800 active uses at a time. It's free to play if your kiddos love them some Roblox.
